Geonode Proxy Review 2023

You’re probably hearing about Geonode for the first time. It is a relatively unknown startup that is currently in the early stages of creation and testing. Furthermore, this proxy service provider does not appear to be the focus of many internet evaluations and debates. It is unclear whether this is a customer service or a performance issue. The company is based in Singapore and specializes in residential real estate. This is not new information, as we have heard from numerous companies with expertise. In most circumstances, agencies that focus on a specific specialty will eventually need to refine their services in order to provide excellent features. Is this provider, however, qualified to deliver quality agency services?

Let’s take a look!

Geonode Solutions

  • Unlimited Bandwidth: Having no limitations on traffic is not uncommon in the proxy world. What is uncommon is having no limit on the bandwidth with residential proxies.

  • Affordable Packages: This is not a feature that we mention often, but in the case of Geonode, we have to make an exception with good reason.

  • 7-day Trial: We have to admit that this is not a free trial, but it’s still a cheap way to test the proxies. Geonode offers a 7-day trial package for $7 without any limitations.

  • Sticky or Rotating Proxies: There are various scenarios for when you need to use proxies, and depending on them, you may need sticky or rotating proxies.

  • Plenty of Price Packages: It seems like having plenty of options to choose from is becoming a rare occurrence. The majority of companies only provide a few options, which puts you in a difficult situation if you require something in between.

  • IP Whitelist and Username and Password Authentication:  Every provider should provide the choice of whitelisting an IP address or logging in with a username and password. Both alternatives are possible depending on where and how you wish to employ the proxies.

This is how Geonode works

Geonode works by offering users a single location to save, organize, and catalog geospatial data like maps, satellite images, and spatial information. Because it is so simple to access and distribute, this data is a priceless asset for both companies and communities. Users can upload, update, and maintain their geospatial datasets using the Geonode web-based interface, which also provides capabilities for metadata management and user access control.

Pricing

Geonode noticed the presence of big market participants and realized it needed a unique selling feature to compete with other providers that had already established a brand for themselves and had to price accordingly. Geonode pricing, in my opinion, is its greatest strength, and it is well thought out and planned.

BrightData and Smartproxy are two examples of private proxy services that provide consumers full access to their pools but limit bandwidth use. Others, like Shifter.io, provide limitless bandwidth but limit the amount of endpoints you may use. Geonode falls somewhere in the center, allowing you to have both (unlimited IP and bandwidth) while limiting the number of threads you may establish at once.

Howtouseproxy Geonode pricing

In terms of actual rates, it is not only competitive but also one of the most cost-effective real estate agents to work with. You’ll need at least $300 to use Bright Data. Shifter costs $249, while Smartproxy costs $75.

Geonode, on the other hand, starts at $47 a month and includes not just unlimited bandwidth use but also unrestricted access to as many IPs as you desire. The only restriction is the number of threads, which is limited to 10 on the $47 plan.

While you may not consider this a problem, it is because 10 threads are insufficient for a website with a large number of external resources (such as photos, CSS and JavaScript files, and so on). This finally slows down websites that require external file downloads. If you require more threads, there are other packages available, ranging from 50 threads ($77) to 20,000 threads ($8,000).

Ease of Use

Another reason you might like this service is its simplicity. The website and user dashboard are designed to be simple enough for inexperienced users to utilize.

All you have to do is sign up for an account, pay, and then enter the dashboard to acquire the proxy endpoints. The user dashboard is quite attractive and visually appealing, as well as simple to use.

Username/password and IP authentication are supported by Geonode. I haven’t tried it yet, but it promises to be able to check up to 20 IP addresses – however, the IP authentication mechanism appears to be flawed, since I was trying with login and password authentication. The program is extremely developer-friendly since it even includes an API that allows you to load proxies by submitting an API call.

Locations

Geonode does not set any records for site coverage, nor can it promise to give premium-level assistance. However, we should not consider this a weakness because it is all about performing the part of a great guy. Without comparing them to firms such as Bright Data, Smartproxy, and Shifter, one may argue that Geonode’s proxy pool is large enough for the majority of users.

They currently have more than 2 million IP addresses in their pool. As with other P2P providers, not all providers are always active and online, but there are always enough IPs available for you to use. According to the geographic coverage, the service is still extremely robust; it did not break any records. Geonode currently services around 140 countries worldwide.

This implies you can utilize IP addresses from over 140 different countries. The service offers country-level geotargeting, and you can use Geonode’s many country-specific IPs.

What you should know is that if a country has only a few active and online IPs, you shouldn’t expect to see many distinct IPs from that country. Geotargeting is only available at the country level. State and city-level geolocation are not currently supported by the Geonode service.

Dashboard overview

Geonode Proxy Dashboard is an easy-to-use tool that enables organizations and people to make use of the real user IP addresses of applications. Users can easily manage their proxy setups, access a global pool of residential IPs, and view performance in real time with the help of the Geonode Dashboard.

It provides fine-grained control over proxy settings, enabling data collecting, ad verification, targeted site scraping, and more. In addition to customization, the dashboard offers insightful data on bandwidth utilization, response times, and proxy usage, allowing customers to effectively optimize their proxy operations.

Documentation

Geonode Proxy Documentation comes to your aid; it is a thorough reference that provides clear and straightforward directions on how to set up and configure proxies within Geonode setups. This documentation provides vital insights and best practices for optimizing data access, improving security, and scaling. It covers everything from proxy server installation and configuration to common problem resolution.

Customer support

Geonode’s customer service is mediocre. You can get in touch with the support team by email, phone, or ticket. We attempted to use the assistance system and found it strange. You must indicate whether you are already a customer before making a request.

We decided to send an email to test how long the support personnel would take to answer. It’s not wonderful, but it’s also not that horrible, lasting an average of two hours. Some businesses take days or weeks to answer emails, while others may not react at all.

Performance

Proxy speed may or may not be significant to you depending on your project. If this is crucial to you, the Geonode proxy service may not be the best option. This is not without reason, as their proxy speed is not among the fastest.

We checked their proxy speed and all we can say is that it needs to be improved. For us, the speed performance testing procedure is straightforward. We tested proxy speed without utilizing a proxy server using Okla’s Speedtest tool, and the results are shown above.

Authentication

You’ll see that we employ username and password authentication if you look at the setup tutorial up top. We chose this method because it is the most used for authentication. Geonode not only supports this technique, but it also has an IP authentication mechanism that enables you to whitelist your device’s IP address and use a proxy on it without supplying a username and password. You can whitelist up to 20 IP addresses with Geonode.

Our Take

Geonode is a very comprehensive and affordable agent suitable for businesses and non-professionals. The proxy offers over 2 million unique IP addresses in 140 countries, ensuring true anonymity on the web.

It allows you to access important information that other websites may hide from you. This proxy can also be used to access restricted content that is geo-restricted and not available in your region.

Geonode is ideal for businesses that want effective representation at no extra cost.
